SPOKANE, Wash. — A project set to get underway on Thursday morning in Spokane has now been postponed for several weeks.
Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) had announced plans to begin work on the Thor Street bridge over I-90 starting on March 30. However, on Thursday morning, less than an hour after the project was supposed to get started, WSDOT announced the work had been postponed.
In a Tweet, WSDOT said, " Our contractor has postponed work on the Thor Street bridge, which was schedule[d] to begin this morning at 7 a.m. and go until approximately noon on Friday. They plan to do the work in two weeks."
WSDOT did alert drivers that other work by the City of Spokane in the area is still ongoing.
Thor Street bridge project
WSDOT is planning a patching project on the Thor Street bridge where it crosses I-90. Crews need to make repairs to the bridge deck, which includes removing areas of fatigue to the bridge deck and pouring new concrete.
Once the project gets rescheduled, drivers should prepare for lane closures and delays in the area.
