Greenstone Housing Development to feature 30 new homes on Spokane's South Hill

Plans for commercial and mixed use will be built closer to 29th Avenue and 30th Avenue, with construction starting as early as next year.

SPOKANE, Wash. — Construction has started on the Greenstone Housing Development on Spokane's South Hill. The $15M project is located just off of South Southeast Boulevard.

KREM 2 has followed the progress on the Garden District community since 2018 when plans were first introduced. It will feature about 30 homes, 12 of which have already sold.

Greenstone Homes is the developer of this project. They're also behind other projects in the region, including Kendall Yards. It's described the 25-acres as an "urban mixed-use neighborhood with a pedestrian focus and extensive trails and open space."

"Greenstone just builds a beautiful neighborhood, " Community sales manager Heidi Bollum said. "It's not just about the houses, it is truly the streets that they do, the tree and every yard. They just build a beautiful neighborhood."

These single-family style homes are built on 33rd and 32nd Avenues in the Garden District. Plans are also in the works to build multiple apartment buildings on site as well. Construction expected to begin this summer.

The area used to be forest land with winding trails and a nearby neighborhood. Some trails remain--keeping the area pedestrian friendly.

"There's already commerce all the way around of it around us," Bollum said. "This will be a walkable community to grocery and coffee shop already set up in Lincoln Heights."

Plans for commercial and mixed use will be built closer to 29th Avenue and 30th Avenue, with construction starting as early as next year.
