SPOKANE, Wash. — The Skate Ribbon in Spokane’s Riverfront Park is reopening today.
According to Fianna Dickson with the City of Spokane, an opening celebration will take place from 5 to 10 p.m., complete with five performances by Cirque Cadia, a fire and ice-themed fire pit and an ice sculpture. It opens for ice skating at 11 a.m.
An unlimited pass holder preview celebration will happen from 3 to 10 p.m. on Friday, and includes free hot cocoa, treats and a first spin on the ice.
Activities throughout the season include:
- Free ice skating lessons, most Saturdays and Sundays starting December 1, 11am – 12:30pm. First 15 guests, 30-minute sessions.
- Cheap Skate Mondays discount skating night, 6pm – close. Free skate rental for every full price ice admission, a $4.50 savings.
- Thursday Theme Nights – College, Disco, Elf, Harry Potter
- Happy Hour at the Ribbon – Social ICE on Fridays, 5 - 8pm
- Corks & Canvas (Dec. 14 , Jan. 18, Feb. 15 at the SkyRibbon Café), painting for ages 21+
- Cocoa & Canvas (Dec. 9, Jan. 20, Feb. 10 at SkyRibbon Café), painting for ages 8+
The Skate Ribbon is open daily through late February. Hours are 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Dec. 22 through Jan. 6 for the holidays. The Skate Ribbon is closed on Christmas Day.
Rates are $6.95 per hour for adults and $4.95 per hour children. An additional half hour is half the price and skate rentals are $4.50. Helmets are free upon request.

- 1-hour ice ribbon skate with rental, SkyRide admission, and unlimited Looff Carrousel rides: $19.95 Adult | $15.95 Child (ages 3-12)
In recognition for the loss of use by Unlimited Pass holders during the 2017/2018 season, Riverfront Park will be extending all Unlimited Passes for an additional 30 days at the beginning of the 2018/2019 ice season, to December 17, 2018. Additionally, Unlimited Pass holders from last year choosing to renew this season will receive a 25 percent discount off the price of their new pass. The renewing rate is $22.50 for adults and $18.75 for children 3-12.
