SPOKANE, Wash. — Juneteenth will cause some closures within the City of Spokane. The holiday is on Wednesday, June 19, and various city buildings will be closed for the day while others will remain open.

The Spokane City Council will not meet on Monday, June 17. The council meetings will resume Monday, June 24, with a 3:30 p.m. briefing session and a legislative session at 6 p.m.
Below is a list of the various closures:
- Spokane City Hall -- closed
- Spokane Municipal Court -- closed
- Community Justice Services -- closed
- All Spokane Public Library branches -- closed
- Development Services Center -- closed
Below is a list of services that will remain open:
- Garbage, recycling, and yard waste -- proceed as usual
- Waste-to-Energy facility -- open
- County's transfer stations -- open
- My Spokane 311 -- available for phone or online customer service
- Riverfront Park attractions-- open
- Looff Carrousel
- Numerica SkyRide
- Numerica Skate Ribbon
- City and county Golf courses -- open
- Splash pads -- open
On-street parking meters and kiosks will not require payment on the holiday. Remember that all parking rules and time limits still apply.
