Fresh Soul hosting fifth Thanksgiving food drive for Spokane residents

Spokane Mayor Nadine Woodward, Mayor-elect Lisa Brown and the Spokane Police Department will all be on hand Thanksgiving morning to help with the giveaway.

SPOKANE, Wash. — An East Central Thanksgiving tradition is back again this year and it is bigger than ever.

Michael Brown owns Fresh Soul, and every year on Thanksgiving he gives out food and cold hard cash. Brown sat down with KREM 2 to explain how he hopes 2023 is the biggest year yet. Brown said, “We’re hoping that we reach the goal. The goal is $50,000. If we don't reach it, we already have done double what we done last year. So, if we reach $50,000 that means 500 people get help."

As of Friday, Mr. Brown has raised almost $30,000 which means at least 300 people will receive $100. On top of that cash, the first 100 people who attend will receive gloves and beanies.

Spokane Mayor Nadine Woodward, Mayor-elect Lisa Brown and the Spokane Police Department will all be on hand Thanksgiving morning to help with the giveaway.

If you want to donate to help Mr. Brown get to $50,000, you can either head down to Fresh Soul to donate in person or you can donate online, here
