Inland Northwest's young farmers ready to shine at 89th Annual Junior Livestock Show

The show gives young farmers a chance to show the animals they have raised and gives them the opportunity to sell the animals.

SPOKANE, Wash. — Young farmers across the Inland Northwest will showcase years of hard work over the next few days during the 89th Annual Junior Livestock Show. The show will run May 1-4 at the Spokane County Fairgrounds.

The show gives young farmers a chance to show the animals they have raised and gives them the opportunity to sell the animals. The funds from the sales go towards the kid’s futures and often pay for their college education.

The public is invited to join any of the events from quality classes to showmanship or the livestock sale.

The livestock sale will take place on May 4 beginning at 9 a.m. and buyers can take part in person at the show or online. You can access the online show here

Organizers of the show say the goal is to “continue to cultivate leaders through ambassador programs, life skills learned on the farm, and education of sustainable agriculture for the future. By raising livestock for the show, youth learn valuable life skills and build a financial savings for collegiate education, their first car or home.”
