COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho — A large RV wrapped with the phrase “Fall Forward” across the side was parked in Coeur d’Alene on Tuesday.
That message is Chris Lowe's slogan as she travels across the country spreading kindness.
Lowe started her journey in Florida and stopped in Coeur d'Alene on Tuesday to do random acts of kindness in the community in memory of her son Hudson Lowe.
"He was involved in everything and he was the happiest kid. And I mean the last person you would ever expect this would happen to. Ever," Chris Lowe said.
After leaving for college in 2015, Hudson started struggling with depression. He and his family worked with doctors to stabilize his mental health.
"He said, 'When I figure this out, I'm going to travel the country and I'm going to teach other kids how to get through this, what I've just gone through.' I said, 'That would be awesome Hudson. You're so inspiring. I know you can inspire so many people,’” Chris Lowe said. “And - and he got in his car and left. And I never saw him alive after that," Chris Lowe said.
Hudson took his own life on July 26, 2017 when he was 20 years old.
His mom took inspiration from his final words to her and began travelling the country in an RV doing 22 acts of kindness in 22 states in 22 days. Hudson would have been 22 this year.
Lowe’s stop in Coeur d’Alene marks day 19.
Her journey itself began with an act of kindness when her friends that own the RV told her they wanted her to take it on her trip.
Lowe hopes to reach people who are suffering from suicidal thoughts through her acts of kindness.
"It's about inspiring people to go do something for someone else," she said.
