SPOKANE, Wash. — Spokane Parks and Recreation announced that Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream will operate at the Manito Park Bench Café for the remainder of the summer.
The café is located inside of the park between Mirror Pond and the Joel E. Ferris Perennial Garden.
Ben and Jerry’s posted to its Facebook page that a team in Spokane will open and operate the café while serving everyone’s favorite flavors, coffee and more.
Ben and Jerry’s celebrated the opening weekend at Manito Park on Friday, July 10, by serving just ice cream. The ice cream brand said they will start to sell food items starting on Monday, July 13.
Last year, Amy Lindsey a programming manager for Spokane Parks and Recreation said the park used their own staff, but a company they hired to operate the food stands eventually pulled out due COVID-19 reasons.
Lindsey said they then proposed a request from restaurants and catering companies to hire for food services and received seven replies back, including Ben & Jerry's.
The ice cream shop posted on social media that café hours are 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
