SPOKANE, Wash. — Spokane native Sydney Sweeney is about to take one of the most famous stages in the world this weekend, but not without a message of encouragement from her alma mater.
The cast and crew of the Saint George's School production of "The Wizard of Oz" took a break from rehearsing to tell Sweeney to "break a leg." The SGS alumni is set to host "Saturday Night Live" for the first time on Saturday.
"The Saint George's School cast and crew of Wizard of Oz gives a big shoutout to former SGS student, Sydney Sweeney, in preparation for her SNL debut! an Instagram post read. "Sydney's remarkable talent continues to inspire us all. Congratulations on this incredible achievement, Sydney!"
And the message didn't go unnoticed; Sweeney quickly saw and responded to the heartfelt message from the current SGS students.
"I’m crying!!" Sweeney wrote. "This is the most beautiful, thoughtful, heart warming message. Thank you so much, I really appreciate it. And best of luck to all of you and your show! Go Dragons!"
The Spokane-born 'Madame Web' and 'Euphoria' star is set to host the show March 2 with musical guest Kasey Musgraves.
You can watch SNL on Saturdays at 11:30 p.m. on NBC and Peacock.
