SPOKANE, Wash. — The Garland Theater is hosting a new program for seniors starting next month.

Meals on Wheels and the Mid-City Senior Center are coming together to help host Senior Center Cinema Day on the first Tuesday of each month at the Garland Theater.

This is a chance for seniors in Spokane to come together and watch a movie in one of Spokane's most historic theaters.

The first screening will be on Tuesday, October 1, where seniors can watch the 1978 musical Grease.

The annual pass for Senior Center Cinema Day is just five dollars, and it will also be valid for Sunday showings.

On the days of screening, doors will open for Senior Center Cinema Day at 12:30 p.m., with the film starting at 1 p.m.

Want to grab some snacks or a drink? Seniors can purchase a discounted popcorn and soda combo.

Seating will be limited to the lower section of the theater, which holds 300 people.

"We're excited to partner with the Garland Theater for this monthly event that will give our senior center members a fun and enriching experience," said Gail Golden, Development Director at Meals on Wheels Spokane. "This is a fantastic way for seniors to socialize, reminisce, and enjoy timeless films together."
