SPOKANE, Wash. — Spokane Parks Foundation has partnered with Providence to host three free community pool parties throughout the summer to help beat the heat.

The first took place on June 28, and the second takes place on Friday, July 12 at the Hillyard Aquatics Center from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.

These community events are a part of the “Make a Splash in a Kid’s Life” programming, which is a Spokane Parks Foundation program that aims to provide access to swim lessons and water safety knowledge to low-income youth. It also provides scholarships to aid young adults in attaining a lifeguard certification.

Providence will be providing free Kona Ice snow cones and beach towels for all attendees and lifeguards will be on duty to ensure safety.

The final swim party will be on Friday, August 2 at the Liberty Aquatics Center from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
