SPOKANE, Wash — The annual Mount Spokane "Ski Swap" takes place on October 26 and 27 at the Spokane Fair & Expo Center.
The ski swap is the largest winter sports equipment and clothing sale in the region. Equipment, clothing and accessories for all winter sports, including Nordic and alpine skiing and snowboarding, will be sold new and used by both individuals and sporting goods stores.
Ski patrollers, shop employees and volunteers will be at the event to help shoppers find their perfect fit. Shopping will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, October 26 and 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on October 27.
Admission to the ski swap is $5 at the door. Admission for children under the age of 12 is free.
Shoppers should get in line early on Saturday morning to grab the best deals. On Sunday, certain items will be marked with a 25% discount.
All proceeds from the ski swap go toward funding Mount Spokane Ski Patrol's (MSSP) operations, including the purchase of medical and first aid supplies, rescue equipment and training materials.
MSSP says around 30% of the gear is brought to the ski swap by individuals, while 70% is from over 20 retail shops in the region that bring both new and used equipment.
For those interested in selling their gear at the swap, registration opens Friday, October 25.
Those selling items will be instructed to bring their gear to the Spokane Fair & Expo Center between 3:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. Items must be clean and in good condition. MSSP says there is no fee to list an item, but a 20% commission fee applies if the item sells.

In addition to clothing and gear, several winter sports organizations, ski areas and businesses will have booths set up at the event. The Mount Spokane Ski & Snowboard Park will be at the event selling season passes and taking pass photos.
MSSP says they are also still accepting volunteers for the event. Those interested in volunteering at the ski swap will be able to enjoy early shopping on Friday night.
