A summit for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and People is being held at Northern Quest

The first day of the summit will also offer counselors and support in the River Tower.

Eastern Washington University honored and remembered missing and murdered indigenous people on the national day of awareness.

SPOKANE, Wash. — The Washington State Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and People (MMIWP) is holding their second annual summit Wednesday and Thursday at the Northern Quest Resort and Casino. 

The summit will have government speakers, panel discussions, keynote speakers and a family healing circle for families and survivors. The first day of the summit will also offer counselors and support in the River Tower. 

Tribal members from the Kalispel, Colville, Spokane and Coeur d'Alene Tribes are all co-hosting the event alongside the task force. 

The event will feature a video message from Gov. Jay Inslee  during the final day of the event.
