SPOKANE, Wash. — As part of the celebrations for Expo '74's 50th Anniversary, the auditions for the Expo's 'Spokane's Got Talent' start Monday.
Auditions run through Tuesday, with two times, one session at 1 p.m. and one at 6:30 p.m. Auditions are being held at the Spokane Civic Theater on North Howard Street.
"Spokane's got a very vibrant talent community and you know, Expo we want to highlight all the diversity that we have in this wonderful city of ours," said M'Rita Di Mauro, Arts & Culture Chair Expo '74, Executive Producer of 'Spokane's Got Talent.'
The judges for the talent show include: Molly Allen, Peter Rivera, Kiantha Duncan and Donnie Emerson.
"We're really excited to have them all [the judges] on board," Di Mauro said.
Allen is a local radio personality and co-host of the morning show on 92.9 ZZU.
Rivera is a drummer and lead vocalist for the band Rare Earth.
Duncan is an artist, author and community leader, she is known for her inspiring works that highlight the beauty and resilience of the human spirit.
Emerson is a musician/ producer whose life story inspired the film "Dreamin’ Wild."
"Well, we're looking for all different types," Di Mauro said. "We have singer songwriters, we have bands we have juggling act, which performed this earlier. I believe we have a martial arts dancer dancers. So we're expecting quite a bit comedy. So really, you know, just a little variety of everything."
