Sprague Union District local businesses come together for 'Autumn on the Ave'

The event seeks to bring community together to support local businesses and enjoy fall fun.

SPOKANE, Wash. — The Sprague Union District is hosting Autumn on the Ave on Saturday, October 12. 

The event encourages community members to enjoy local businesses and fall family fun with pop-up shops, carnival games and store discounts. 

“The business community is amazing. And as you can see by all the cool stuff we have. It’s a fun place to be and it looks really good," said Dana Reinke of Creative Catch Studio.

The Tin Roof Furniture will host the carnival in their east corner lot, with games, prizes, cookies and cider. Select items and brands will also be on sale or grouped into exclusive deals during the event. 

There will also be a petting zoo by Kari's Kritterz from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Bide & Burgeon will celebrate its 4th anniversary during the festival. The business will give out 10 mystery grab bags for $15 each and will have free Halloween coloring pages for kids. 

The Creative Catch Studio will be hosting a free photo booth while The Rusty Mug will have free face painting for all ages from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. 

Several other businesses will be hosting small pop-up shops, flash sales and other specials. 

Additionally, a few participating businesses will host a shop hop with a $1,000 giveaway. Shoppers can pick up a stamp sheet on Saturday at any participating location. 

Shoppers must visit at least 6 locations on the sheet, find the fall-themed word and get a stamp. Completed sheets can be dropped off at any of the participating shops.

Shoppers will be entered to win 1 of 3 grand prizes and the first 50 guests to submit their completed sheets with receive a limited-edition collectible poster from local artist Katie Frey.

The event will also feature live music from Brad Keeler at SpoMoto CitySports from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
