SPOKANE, Wash. — The 2024 South Perry Street Fair has been canceled due to lack of volunteers, according to an Instagram post from the organizers.
The South Perry Business and Neighborhood Association (SPBNA) took to Instagram Tuesday to announce the decision to cancel the street fair. To make up for the cancelation, the group is going to consider hosting smaller events throughout the year.
"The South Perry Business and Neighborhood Association has made the difficult decision to cancel the South Perry Street Fair in 2024 due to lack of volunteers to lead the effort," SPBNA said via Instagram. "We will consider hosting some smaller events this year instead and will continue to advocate for, support, and invest in the South Perry District in other ways."
The South Perry Street Fair has been a highly-anticipated event in Spokane since 1999, and has taken place nearly every year since then, with the exception of 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
SPBNA is holding it's next meeting on Wednesday, March 6 at 6:30 p.m. The meeting will be held at the Meeting House Cafe, located at 1801 E 11th Avenue.
"Please join us to share your ideas on what activities and events you’d like to see in the Perry District this year and ways you would be willing to support the effort," the group said.
