Katelyn Gallaway joined KREM 2 as a part-time sports anchor/reporter in 2024. While she lived most of her life in Boise, Idaho, she was born in Spokane to a Whitworth and an Eastern Washington grad whose unofficial first date was Bloomsday, meaning she was destined to return to Spokane. She graduated from Whitworth in 2022 with a B.A. in Communication with an emphasis in Journalism and Media Studies.

After Whitworth, she moved to KULR 8 in Billings, Montana to start her career as a sports reporter/anchor. While there, she helped pioneer coverage of high school girls wrestling in its first few years and covered national storylines during the Billings Outlaws’ return to the AFL and the league’s near-collapse, which earned her an interview with former NFL head coach and then interim AFL commissioner Jeff Fisher. She also threw a ceremonial first pitch for the Billings Mustangs and has made it her goal to throw a ceremonial first pitch in every city she works in.

When she’s not chasing high school and college sports, Katelyn likes reading, spending time with friends and family, exploring the Pacific Northwest with her husband, and riding the roller coaster of Seattle Mariners baseball. Connect with her via email at Kgallaway@krem.com or Twitter: @katelyngallaway
