SPOKANE, Wash. — The Radio Television Digital News Association (RTDNA) announced Tuesday that KREM 2 received four regional awards for our coverage of several different local news stories.
KREM 2 received more regional awards that any small market station in Region 1, which represents stations in Alaska, Idaho, Oregon and Washington state.
KREM 2 received awards in the following categories:
- Investigative Reporting (Sam Martinez Investigation) - Ian Smay, Whitney Ward, Brett Allbery
- Newscast (6pm January Windstorm) – Team award
- Feature Reporting (Hyland Family Tragedy) - Whitney Ward, Brett Allbery
- Continuing Coverage (The Rebuilding of Malden) - Amanda Roley, Brett Allbery
Regional winners are then considered for awards at the national level, which will be announced sometime in the summer.
