With a five percent margin of error, the poll suggests a close race between the two candidates. McMorris Rodgers saw victory in every race since she was first elected in 2004.

The poll also found people strongly divided based on party, with 85 percent of Democrats backing Brown, and 80 percent of Republicans supporting McMorris Rodgers. This is the first independent poll for the 2018 season and shows McMorris Rodgers with only a narrow lead, with just under seven months until the election in November.
