50 acre fire burning outside of Ellensburg

Fire crews said on Friday that they were making good progress on stopping the spread of the fire.

ELLENSBURG, Wash. -- A 50 acre fire is burning 18 miles south of Ellensburg.

Fire crews said on Friday that they were making good progress on stopping the spread of the fire. As of about 2:00 p.m., they were mopping up.

Several resources are on scene.

So far in 2018, Washington Department of Natural Resources has responded to 649 wildfires and 80 percent of them were human caused.
