Man from West Virginia found dead in the Columbia River south of Kettle Falls

It is believed that Tice drove to the area in a 2002 Dodge 1500. It is primer gray with West Virginia plates 4E5002 but it has not been located.

STEVENS COUNTY, Wash. -- A man was found dead in the middle of the Columbia River near Daisy Station on Highway 25 south, south of Kettle Falls.

The man was identified by fingerprints as Leonard Paul Tice, 55. Tice was from New Cumberland, West Virginia. Tice’s family has been notified but it is unclear why he was in the Pacific Northwest.

It is believed that Tice drove to the area in a 2002 Dodge 1500. It is primer gray with West Virginia plates 4E5002 but it has not been located. The Stevens County Sheriff believes it is most likely parked along the river or in a campground area. If the vehicle is located, contact the Stevens County Sheriff's Office at 509-684-5296.

Officials said no criminal activity is suspected.
