ISP seizes 35 pounds of marijuana from 61-year-old man's car

LEWISTON, Idaho – A 61-year-old man was arrested during a traffic stop in Lewiston after Idaho State Police found 35 pounds of marijuana in his car.

Officials said they stopped a white Buick Lacrosse Thursday for expired Montana registration on southbound Highway 95 in Nez Perce County. They said the driver, Phillip Tschimperle, 61, had a felony warrant out of Minnesota.

Authorities dispatched an ISP K9 to the scene and Tschimperle admitted to having drug paraphernalia. Officers also found 35 pounds of marijuana in the car.

Tschimperle was arrested and booked for trafficking marijuana, possession of a schedule two controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana oil resin.
