MOSES LAKE, Wash. -- Two people were able to escape their boat when it caught fire on Moses Lake near Blue Heron Park Thursday afternoon.
Moses Lake Fire Department officials said the boat caught fire just under the I-90 bridge at Highway 171. The two people on the boat were able to jump off and swim to shore.
Crews were able to get the fire out and put an oil boom around it. Utility companies are out repairing lines under the bridge that were damaged by the fire.
The Department of Ecology has been notified and they will do an assessment to see if the water has been contaminated.
