LEWISTON, Idaho — One person is dead after an apartment fire in Lewiston, Idaho.
At 5:18 p.m. Monday, Jan. 15, the Lewiston Fire Department arrived at the Highland Apartments when they found smoke coming from the apartment building.
When firefighters went into the building, they searched for the person living in the apartment and found that they had already died.
It is unknown if the cause of death was due to the fire or other causes. Right now, details of the person's death are being withheld until the family is notified.
Damage to the building and the things within is estimated to be $75,000.
No other people in the apartment building or firefighters were hurt.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
