SPOKANE, Wash. — A standoff at a Spokane Valley Mobile gas station ended with one suspect dead Sunday.
According to Spokane County Sheriff Ozzie Knezovich, police were called to the scene after reports of a man vandalizing a car at the gas pump.
Officials said he was suicidal and had a gun with him.
The area of East Trent Avenue and North Evergreen Road is still closed as of 1:30 p.m. Sunday.
Officials said they tried to negotiate with the suspect to come out of his car. SWAT team was also called to the scene.
According to officials, deputies shot at the suspect and he died at the scene.
Authorities said they do not know whether the suspect shot at police.
This is still an ongoing investigation. Roads are expected to be closed for a few more hours.
